I'm a gentle dog who is wise beyond his years.
I was born in May of 2016. I’m sure of this because the month and year of my birthday are tattooed in my right ear. In my left ear I have a tattoo of my litter number, which was assigned by the National Greyhound Association (NGA). I don’t exactly remember when I got my tattoos, but most racing greyhounds are tattooed in both ears when they are about 2 months old.
Most greyhounds retire from racing between the ages of 2 and 5 years old. I ran in 45 races. After I finished last in 30 of those races, my racetrack owners decided to retire me at the ripe old age of one and a half years old. While I was often last on the track, I am first in the hearts of many here at the Haven. I love it here! When I want to run, I can. When I don’t want to run, I like to take a nap with Mason.
