Wild Hearts CAN Be Tamed!

In the spring of 2025, I was living wild and free in the streets of West Hollywood. Don’t ask how I ended up running around in West Hollywood by myself; I’ll never tell. Sometimes people with dogs would walk by the bushes where I was hanging out. They thought that I would be scared. Quite the opposite. I loved charging out of the bushes and surprising people and their dogs!

Over time, my presence became less of a surprise to the people who routinely walked their dogs near me. It almost seemed like they were looking for me. Some of the people were really nice. They gave me fresh produce to eat. I started to get a little lonely, and I was worried that I might not be safe on my own. A few people tried to catch me several times, but I played hard to get. Finally, it was time to give up my wild ways. Some very dedicated people invited me into a nice pet carrier and took me to Heritage Haven.

When I arrived, they put me in a separate enclosure in the aviary. For the first time in a long time, I saw other chickens! I didn’t want them to know how excited I was, so I played it cool at first. Within a few days, I could no longer hide my excitement about being part of a flock. I joined the flock and I am so happy that I did. I have made a lot of friends here, but I have a special connection with Miles. You will usually find us working together to dig a really awesome hole or walking next to each other to visit our flock mates. I was afraid that I might miss my wild days, but I still have plenty of room to run and play and I love my new flock!
