I love my early retirement!
Before coming to the Haven, my trainer used me for lessons. I was very good at my job and could help her students learn all kinds of advanced maneuvers. Then one day, something changed. The vet says that I have a neurological condition. It does not affect me all of the time, but the vet says that it is not safe for people to ride me because we don’t know when it will. I was not sure what would happen to me if I could not be ridden anymore.
Most people do not want horses who cannot be ridden. I was only eight years old when I was diagnosed and I hoped that there was someone who would see value in me in spite of my diagnosis. I was so relieved when my owner brought me to the Haven! Most of the other horses here had jobs before, just like I did. Now, we just get to hang out and be horses. My friend, Demi, taught me how everything works here and now I fit right in. This is the life!
